Queen Rania al-Abdullah of Jordan attended a charity dinner to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans.

The Queen of Jordan, who is the patron, attended the dinner in Amman’s Grand Hyatt Hotel to show continued support for the organisation and its commitment to expanding educational opportunities for vulnerable youth in Jordan.

During the dinner, the beneficiaries of the organisation were celebrated, and donors were thanked for their support.

Queen Rania spoke to members of Al Aman Fund’s Board of Directors and General Assembly during a short meeting and spent time with donors and partners to thank them for their generosity.

Queen Rania launched the Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans in 2003 as a charitable campaign. By 2006, it was officially registered as a non-profit organisation.

Queen Rania’s office explained that the fund is the “first Jordanian institution of its kind dedicated to supporting the underserved demographic of orphans aged 18 and above. Named for the Arabic word for ‘security,’ Al Aman aims to provide orphaned youth with opportunities to obtain higher education and achieve professional and personal success in adulthood.”

The Al Aman Fund has helped over 5,000 young men and women who have received scholarships for universities, community colleges and vocational training.
