King Harald V of Norway has been hospitalised in Tenerife on Tuesday.
The Royal Court of Norway announced late Tuesday evening that King Harald, 89, has been hospitalised in Tenerife.
The King, with Queen Sonja, is currently on a private trip for their winter holiday in the Canary Islands.
A statement from the Royal Court said,
This evening His Majesty The King was admitted to Hospital Universitario Hospiten Sur in Tenerife. The King is being treated for an infection and dehydration, and his condition is considered good under the circumstances.
The King’s personal physician will travel to Tenerife to assist the local medical team. His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen are currently on a private stay in Tenerife during their winter holiday.
An update on His Majesty’s health will be provided during Wednesday, 25 February, after the personal physician has assessed the situation.
The Royal Court had no further comment on Tuesday evening.
