Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has visited the BalticReed project at Rydboholm’s Sandkullen farm with the Race For The Baltic Foundation.

Ahead of Baltic Sea Day on 31 August, Crown Princess Victoria visited the project where the Sjöutsikt company harvests reeds that are pressed into bales. These bales are then used as animal feed for the Vallentuna 4H farm, among others. The Swedish Agricultural University examines the quality of the reeds for fodder production.

Crown Princess Victoria rolled up her sleeves and helped to harvest and shovel the reeds into the baler. It was then wrapped in plastic for transport to the farm. At the farm, she met with the employees caring for the animals. She also helped to feed the animals with reeds.

The following day, Crown Princess Victoria attended the Baltic Sea Festival, and this year’s theme is “Heroes & Anti-Heroes.” She attended the concert, which was newly created and based on questions about the state of nature.
