King Felipe of Spain has presented the CODESPA Awards.
The CODESPA Awards recognise the commitment of companies and communication professionals to the fight against poverty and social exclusion and the construction of a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
Upon his arrival, King Felipe was greeted by the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz; the President of the CODESPA Foundation, Andrés Fontenla; and the President-Director General of the National Mint and Stamp Factory–Royal Mint, María Isabel Valldecabres.
Inside the Goya Room, King Felipe presided over a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the CODESPA Foundation. The welcoming remarks were delivered by Andrés Fontenla and the CEO of the CODESPA Foundation, José Ignacio González-Aller. Afterwards, the Kiong met with the partners of the Business Observatory for Inclusive Growth.
Following the board meeting, King Felipe presented the awards in the auditorium of the Royal Mint. The winners were Ferrovial for the “On the move for Water” project, tuTECH for the project “Impact investing to end homelessness”, and Chema Caballero for his work “The Electricians Bringing Solar Energy to Gambian Villages to Change the Lives of Other Women.”
In a speech, the King said, “… what defines CODESPA is not just its history. It is, above all, its way of understanding development, always starting from the individual, their dignity, and the recognition of their own capacity to build a better future.”
