King Charles III stepped out in the brand new King Charles III tartan at the Braemar Gathering.
The new tartan is designed in green, blue and red in recognition of King Charles’s strong support in preserving the tradition of Highland Dress and Scottish Tartans. It is based on the Balmoral tartan, which dates from around 1850.
The tartan was designed by The Scottish Tartans Authority and was woven by Lochcarron of Scotland. King Charles and Queen Camilla visited Lochcarron of Scotland earlier this year to see the new tartan in production.
