The Princess Royal was in The Netherlands to attend a ceremony at the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery to commemorate the Battle of Arnhem.

She was joined there by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

Upon arrival, she was greeted by several dignitaries before being given a royal salute as she entered the cemetery. She read out Psalm 19 before taking her seat alongside her husband.

She was the first to lay a wreath at the monument, while the last was 99-year-old Arnhem veteran Geoff Roberts.

The Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery is home to 1,764 graves, most of whom are from the Battle of Arnhem. The majority of these are from the United Kingdom.

The ceremony ended with a Fly Past from the Royal Netherlands Airforce Historic Flight.
