The Princess of Wales has concluded her two-day visit to Italy.

For the final engagement in Italy, the Princess of Wales visited Al Vigneto, a rural agriturismo, to reflect on her experiences during the trip and to celebrate the power of intergenerational connection.

The Princess was in Reggio Emilia this week, marking a significant next step for The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood as it expands internationally. Spearheaded by Catherine, the visit, which is built on the Centre’s Shaping Us Framework, focused on early childhood development and formed part of a high-level fact-finding mission to explore leading international approaches to supporting young children and those who care for them.

Yesterday, to round off the highly successful trip, the Princess spent time with families from the surrounding areas to explore how entire communities come together to support children as they grow. The Princess joined the team at Al Vigneto to prepare lunch, learning how care, creativity, and connection are passed from the eldest to the youngest generation and how these values are woven into everyday life.

Her Royal Highness was joined at the agriturismo by many of the individuals she had met throughout her visit, representing the different organisations and voices she encountered. The gathering offered the Princess an opportunity to express her gratitude in person for their support and hospitality, as well as to acknowledge the role they play in sustaining a culture of care.

Once back home in the United Kingdom, the Princess of Wales released a personal message to social media saying in part, “I have had such a deeply moving and unforgettable time here. Thank you to the people of Reggio Emilia for welcoming me into a culture of care with such warmth and generosity,” while signing the post ‘C’ for Catherine.
