Princess Alexia of the Netherlands has thanked the numerous well-wishers.
The official Twitter account posted her message which said, ““Veel dank voor de vele felicitaties die ik voor zowel mijn verjaardag als mijn diploma mocht ontvangen. Wow!!!” – Alexia”, this translates into “Much thanks for the many congratulations I have received for both my birthday and my diploma. Wow!!! – Alexia.” The message also came with a photo that was taken during their annual photo call on the beach at Scheveningen.
Princess Alexia officially achieved her International Baccalaureate earlier this year. She left the UWC in Wales in May after completing her exams. She attended the traditional Leavers’ Celebration alongside the Princess of Asturias. Princess Leonor was joined by her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, and her sister Infanta Sofía, who will start her stay at the school in the new term.
Princess Alexia later told the press she is taking a gap year. She said, “A bit of travel, working and stuff.” She said there were “lots of plans”, but “not much has been organised.” This led to a joke from her sister, who said, “As usual!”
Princess Alexia is the second daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. She is second in the line of succession, behind her elder sister, the Princess of Orange.
