Princess Anne’s husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, has offered an update on the royal’s health as she remains hospitalised in Bristol.

Laurence visited his wife at the hospital and told the media that the Princess was “doing fine.”

He said: “She is doing fine, slowly but surely.”

The Vice Admiral said that he brought the Princess Royal “a few little things from home” when he was questioned about the bag he was carrying.

The Princess Royal is at Southmead Hospital after an incident involving a horse on the Gatocombe Park estate.

Princess Anne, 73, sustained minor injuries and has a concussion.

She is expected to make a full recovery.
