Princess Anne has said she recalls “nothing” of her 2024 accident that left her concussed.
The Princess Royal spoke to the Press Association during her trip to South Africa and revealed she does not remember anything about the accident last summer.
At the time, her medical team said her injuries were consistent with contact with a horse’s leg or head.
Anne revealed that she doesn’t remember being around the animal before being injured: “I know where I thought I was going and that was to go to the chickens, no, nothing to do with horses. … I don’t have any idea what I was doing in the field, because I never normally went that way.”
Her Royal Highness admitted that the injury has taught her that “every day is a bonus.”
She said: “It just reminds you, shows you – you never quite know, something [happens] and you might not recover.”
Princess Anne was admitted to Southmead Hospital after an incident involving a horse on the Gatocombe Park estate in June 2024.
She sustained minor injuries and had a concussion.
