Princess Beatrix may be working with a broken wrist, but she was in good spirits at the Bronbeek home for military veterans to help celebrate their 160th anniversary.
Princess Beatrix was welcomed by the Mayor of Arnhem, Ahmed Marcouch, at the entrance. The historical building houses both veterans and is home to a museum. After receiving flowers from a veteran, the Princess went inside for the opening of the new permanent exhibition and to speak with the veterans.

She spoke with a 100-year-old veteran inside his small apartment before going back to the main hall for meetings with several groups. There are currently 40 veterans living there.
