Prince George becomes a teenager

Prince George of Wales becomes a teenager today!

The Prince will mark his 13th birthday privately with his family, but a new photo of the teenager is expected to be released to the public on the Kensington Palace social media accounts.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are known to share a new snap of their children on their birthdays, and often, the image is taken by the Princess of Wales herself.

George Alexander Louis was born on 22 July 2013 in London’s St Mary’s Hospital to the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. He has two younger siblings, Princess Charlotte (b. 2015) and Prince Louis (b. 2018).

He was born during the reign of his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and was third in line of succession. Upon Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022 and the subsequent accession to the throne by his grandfather, King Charles, young George is now second in line behind his father.

As he has gotten older, Prince George has begun joining his parents on more royal engagements as a way to prepare him for his future role as monarch. He has joined his father, Prince William, on a visit to the charity The Passage and more recently, accompanied his mother, Catherine, on a visit to RAF Coningsby.

Prince George has been educated at Thomas’s School and Lambrook. He will enrol at Eton College (his father’s alma mater) in September of this year.
