King Abdullah II of Jordan met with the Jordanian International Search and Rescue Team, affiliated with the Public Security Directorate/Civil Defence Department, which recently returned from a humanitarian mission in Venezuela.
The meeting was held at Al Husseiniya Palace, and King Abdullah received a briefing from the mission’s team commander.
King Abdullah emphasised that the team’s mission was a point of pride for the Jordanian people and commended them for carrying it out to exemplary standards.

Public Security Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Obeidallah Maaytah and Civil Defence Department Director Brig. Gen. Nasser Al Suwailmeen also attended the meeting.
Last month, Venezuela was struck by two major earthquakes, causing immense damage across the country. The state of La Guaira was particularly affected, and 80% of its buildings collapsed. It has now been confirmed that more than 5,300 people were killed, 16,700 were injured, and thousands are still missing.
