Princess Iman of Jordan has given birth to her first child, a daughter.
Princess Iman gave birth to a baby girl on 16 February at Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II Hospital in Aqaba.
Iman and Jameel have named their little girl Amina, which means trustworthy, faithful or honest in Arabic.

King Abdullah and Queen Rania visited their daughter in the hospital to meet their new granddaughter. The King appeared to call the adhan for Amina in one of the images posted to His Majesty and Her Majesty’s social media accounts.
Calling the adhan is the reciting the word of the Tawhid as the first thing a baby hears in this world. It is recited into the baby’s right ear. This is meant to have a blessing effect on the child.

King Abdullah wrote on X: “I congratulate my dear Iman and the beloved Jameel on the birth of their daughter, Amina. We thank God for His countless blessings, and we ask Him, the Exalted, to protect her and make her one of the righteous.”
On becoming a grandmother for the second time, Queen Rania posted on social media: “My darling Iman is now a mother. We’re grateful and overjoyed to meet Amina, our family’s newest blessing. Congratulations Jameel and Iman – may God bless you and your precious little girl.”
Crown Prince Hussein also took to Instagram to welcome his niece to the world, sharing images of his daughter, Iman, with her new cousin. The Crown Prince said: “Welcome to the family, Amina! May you be a source of joy for your parents and a loving sister and lifelong companion to my daughter.”

One special photo shows Hussein holding his newborn niece, while Jameel holds six month old Princess Iman. Hussein’s wife, Rajwa, stands in between them.
Amina does not hold a title as she descends from the female line. She is also not in the line of succession as women are not allowed to inherit the throne in Jordan.
