One European palace is already dusting off the Christmas decorations.

The Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg has begun putting up its Christmas decorations, but there is a specific reason they are being put up ahead of Halloween.

The decorations are being placed in the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg City in preparation for the Grand Duke’s Christmas Eve address.

Grand Duke Henri will film his speech in front of these decorations with the traditional musical accompaniment.

The Maîtrise Saint-Cécile choir from Notre-Dame Cathedral provided the music for this year’s speech with performances of the national anthems, ‘Wilhelmus’ and ‘Heemecht’.

While the choir has recorded their portion of the Christmas Eve broadcast, the Grand Duke will not film his speech until closer to the holiday.

The Grand Duke’s speech is televised each Christmas Eve across media channels in Luxembourg.
