Queen Sonja of Norway has opened an exhibit in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Queen of Norway was supposed to open the exhibit featuring Norwegian and Swedish artists alongside Queen Silvia of Sweden; however, Silvia had to pull out of the engagement after the death of her sister-in-law.

Instead, Princess Christina, the older sister of King Carl Gustaf, and her husband, Tord Magnuson, welcomed the Norwegian consort to Sweden.

Queen Sonja opened the “Dream and reality” exhibition at Prins Eugen’s Waldemarsudde. It features 100 works of Norwegian artist Lars Hertervig and Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Hill.

After cutting the ceremonial ribbon, the Queen was given a tour of the displays.

The exhibit was created in collaboration between Prins Eugen’s Waldemarsudde, the Norwegian Stavanger Art Museum and the Nordic Institute of Art.

“Dream and reality” will be on display in the Norwegian museum in 2025.
