Spain’s Princess Leonor has arrived in New York on the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano.

The Princess of Asturias arrived with her fellow midshipmen on 5 June at Pier 88 on the Hudson River.

The midshipmen were able to attend the Teatro Real Orchestra concert at Carnegie Hall featuring “A Musical Fantasy from Spain.”

The heir to the Spanish throne was also the flag bearer for the Oath of Allegiance ceremony for Spaniards living in New York.

Since leaving Spain, Leonor has already visited Central and South American countries like Brazil, Colombia, Panama, and Uruguay.

Princess Leonor set sail for training in January with her parents on hand to see her off. Since then, Queen Letizia has visited her daughter in Panama, alongside other parents who were invited to a reception.

This is the ship’s 34th stop in the Big Apple. Its initial stopover in New York was during its first training cruise in 1929. It was last in New York in 2023.
