King Felipe of Spain has presided over the Portuguese-Spanish conference Challenges of the 21st Century together with the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
The conference promotes the exchange of knowledge and culture between Spain and Portugal. The President of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Antonio Feijó; the honorary President of the Duques de Soria Foundation, Carlos Zurita, Duke of Soria; and the President of the Don Luís I Foundation, Salvato Teles de Menezes, all contributed to the conference.
King Felipe said, “…it is always a source of joy to be in Portugal. Doing so to inaugurate, together with President Rebelo, this conference organised by the Duques de Soria and D. Luis I Foundations adds to this joy the sincere and deep satisfaction of seeing how Spain and Portugal / Portugal and Spain generate continuous and responsible spaces of meeting, of mutual enrichment and of shared vision and commitment to the great future challenges that we both must face, in Europe, in the Atlantic and the African continent and in so many areas of greatest interest…
