King Felipe meets school competition winners

King Felipe of Spain has met with the winners of a school competition.

The winners of the 44th edition of the school competition “What is a King to you?” were received at the Royal Palace of El Pardo. The competition is sponsored by the Spanish Institutional Foundation (FIES) and the Orange Foundation to promote children’s creativity.

The King was received by the president of the Spanish Institutional Foundation, Rafael Guardans, and the president of the Orange Foundation, Ludovic Alain Pech. 

He toured the exhibition of the winning projects, which had been displayed in the Patio de los Austrias. The students and teachers were able to speak with the King and explain their projects to him.

Following the tour, speeches were held by the president of FIES, Rafael Guardans; Berta Álvarez, a teacher representing Castilla y León; and Javier Fernández, the winning student from the Foral Community of Navarra. Afterwards, the King socialised with the students, the teachers and family members.
