Grand Duchess Maria Theresa of Luxembourg has an important meeting with Mr Marc Angel, President of the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO), Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mr Tom Bellion, the current director of the LCTO and Mrs Antje Voss, who will take over the management of the LCTO.
They presented the Grand Duchess with a cheque of €16,728.07 during the meeting. This money comes from the profits of the summer opening of the Grand Ducal Palace and is donated to the “Foundation of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess.”
This foundation, of which the Grand Duchess is the chairperson, is committed to helping the most vulnerable and underprivileged people, where the usual ways have proven to be ineffective. The donation will help with the “Assistance and Relief” project, for example, as a scholarship project for single-parent students.
On the foundation’s official website, the Grand Duchess is quoted as saying, “Since its creation almost 40 years ago, the Foundation’s primary vocation has been to serve the most vulnerable populations in Luxembourg and abroad.”
The board of directors also consists of the Grand Duke, the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Hereditary Grand Duchess and Mr. Norbert Becker, President of the Administration of the Property of HRH the Grand Duke.
