To mark Princess Isabella’s 18th birthday today, gala portraits of the Princess are being released for the first time.

The Princess wears the Order of the Elephant, which she received upon the accession of her father, King Frederik X of Denmark.

She wears a turquoise tiara, which is said to have belonged to Catherine the Great. This eventually ended up in the collection of Isabella’s great-great-grandmother, Princess Margaret of Connaught.

Princess Isabella is the second child of King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark. She is currently second in the line of succession behind her elder brother, Crown Prince Christian.
