Tuesday marked a first for Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway when she undertook a special royal engagement.
The Princess, 21, held her first solo royal audience at the Royal Palace in Oslo on 17 June.
Norway’s future monarch met the Children’s Climate Panel, part of Miljøagentene, a Norwegian children’s organisation that works to inspire children to be involved in environmental protection and sustainability.

The children spoke to the Princess about the annual report, which gathers responses from thousands of Norwegian children to learn their views on climate, nature, and sustainability. The Children’s Climate and Environment Report this year had over 18,000 children participate.
After the meeting, Ingrid Alexandra released a short statement: “I had a very pleasant meeting with the Children’s Climate Panel today. They impressed me with their knowledge and efforts. I hope everyone will listen to what they have to say.”
While this was a first for Princess Ingrid Alexandra, the Children’s Climate Panel has met the Norwegian Royal Family before. In 2022, they were invited to Skaugum (the home of the Crown Prince Couple) to present their report. Ingrid Alexandra first met the group in 2009 in the Palace Park.
