The Danish Royal House has announced plans for Princess Benedikte’s 80th birthday.

The Princess will mark her 80th birthday on 29 April privately.

However, other celebrations will occur in Denmark on 19 April, 24 April and 2 May.

A dinner will be hosted by Friends of Dressage and other equestrian patronages of Benedikte’s at Sølyst on 19 April. The Princess has long been interested in equestrianism and holds many patronages surrounding the sport.

On 24 April, Princess Benedikte will open the exhibition “Princess Dresses” at Koldinghus. It will contain a selection of the Princess’s ball gowns from over the years, all created by Jørgen Bender. Her wedding dress will be one of many on display.

According to the Royal House, “The exhibition also provides an overview of four decades of fashion history, as the selection was created in the period 1968 to 1999.”

Finally, on 2 May, Princess Benedikte will host a reception in the Hall of Knights at Rosenborg Palace for her patronages.
