Queen Camilla led the commemoration at the Field of Remembrance. This commemoration has been taking place since 1928 and is presented by the Poppy Factory, of which the Queen is a patron.
The Dean of Westminster gave a speech saying it was the 94th time the Field of Remembrance has met. Queen Camilla placed a cross on which her new royal monogram was first printed.
The president of the Poppy Factory said that, “The Queen was very moved.” Camilla spoke with veterans and military representatives before she left. The Field of Remembrance contains 70,000 crosses representing people who have served and will be open to the public until November 20,
This Sunday is also Remembrance Sunday in the United Kingdom, which commemorates the contribution of Commonwealth and British servicemen in the two world wars and later conflicts.
