Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit have opened this year’s Easter preparations for Norwegian People’s Aid.

The event took place at the Ulsrudsvannet swimming pool in Oslo. The Crown Prince Couple called up the local volunteer teams over the emergency network.

The Norwegian People’s Aid has 2,000 volunteers on standby, who are now ready for a large Easter procession. Over the last few years, their focus has been on the treatment of hypothermia.

The Crown Prince Couple participated in an exercise where a patient was treated for possible hypothermia.

Also present were the Minister of Justice and Emergency Situations, Emilie Enger Mehl, and the Mayor of Oslo, Anne Lindboe.
