Prince William has revealed he misses his time as a search and rescue pilot.

During his trip to South Africa for the Earthshot Awards, the heir to the British throne met volunteers who worked for the National Seas Rescue Institute (NSRI) and revealed how much he missed doing their work.

The Prince of Wales jumped into a lifeboat and the volunteers asked him if he’d ever done search and rescue work before.

“I miss this life. Any chance to get back, I’ll take,” he said.

The Prince worked as a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance from 2015 to 2017 after training as a search and rescue pilot with the RAF Valley in Anglesey, Wales, from 2010 to 2013.

The Prince of Wales left his position with the East Anglian Air Ambulance to begin full-time royal duties.
