Numerous threats against the Duchess of Sussex

In recent years, serious threats have been made against the Duchess of Sussex.

This is what Scotland Yard Commissioner Neil Basu said in an interview with Channel 4. He will soon retire after thirty years. According to him, she received “disgusting and very real” threats while still a senior royal. He also said he would understand if she felt “threatened all the time”. People have been prosecuted in response to the threats.

“If you had seen the things that were written and you received it, the kind of rhetoric that is online, if you don’t know what I know, you would feel threatened all the time,” he shared. He also said she was “absolutely” threatened by the far right.

In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex retired from their jobs as senior royals and moved to the United States. In an interview with Oprah, Meghan said she felt suicidal before they called it quits.
