King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden sent a telegram of thanks to President Zelenskyy following the King’s visit to Lviv.

He wrote, “Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for welcoming me in Lviv on 17 April. It was an honour to visit Ukraine once again. I remain deeply impressed by the strength, courage and determination of the Ukrainian people in the face of Russia’s war of aggression.

The Queen and I also wish to convey our sincere condolences on the tragic loss of lives following recent Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and the shooting in Kyiv on 18 April. We extend our sincere and heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of the victims and to the people of Ukraine.
