Princess Nobuko of Japan’s eye surgery was successful.

She was admitted to the Keio University Hospital on 3 March to have surgery on both eyes for primary angle closure (PAC) and cataracts. She had no symptoms but was diagnosed during a checkup at the end of 2023.

The crystalline lenses in her eyes were replaced with intraocular lenses.
