King Charles will not attend COP29 in Azerbaijan.

The King will not travel to the former Soviet republic for the COP29 climate conference in November.

According to Sky News, His Majesty will skip the event due to his ongoing treatment for an unspecified cancer.

King Charles is already skipping 11 days of treatment to undertake a tour of Australia and Samoa in mid-October. Buckingham Palace has worked with the Australian government regarding events on the agenda and a planned trip to New Zealand was also scrapped on doctor’s advice.

COP29 will begin on 11 November in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The King attended last year’s conference in Dublin but skipped the 2022 summit in Egypt in consultation with the government.
