A new show about Queen Máxima has gone into production. The show is being produced by Videoland, and they announced that the first scenes were being shot in New York.

The show will consist of six episodes and is based on the book Moederland: De jonge jaren van Máxima Zorreguieta  (Motherland: The early years of Máxima Zorreguieta), which was published in November 2021. The story will cover Queen Máxima’s early years, her career in New York, her meeting with her future husband, King Willem-Alexander, and her eventual arrival in the Netherlands.

The leading roles are being played by Argentinian actress Delfina Chaves and the Dutch actor Martijn Lakemeier. The show is set to be released in 2024.

The future Queen Máxima worked for HSBC James Capel Inc. in New York City, where she was the Vice President of institutional sales for Latin America from July 1996 until February 1998. Until July 1999, she was the Vice President of the emerging markets division of Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. She met her future husband in April 1999 in Seville during the Seville Spring Fair. From May 2000 to March 2001, she worked for Deutsche Bank in Brussels.

She married the then Prince of Orange in February 2002 in Amsterdam, and they went on to have three children together.
