A new show about Queen Máxima has gone into production. The show is being produced by Videoland, and they announced that the first scenes were being shot in New York.
The show will consist of six episodes and is based on the book Moederland: De jonge jaren van Máxima Zorreguieta (Motherland: The early years of Máxima Zorreguieta), which was published in November 2021. The story will cover Queen Máxima’s early years, her career in New York, her meeting with her future husband, King Willem-Alexander, and her eventual arrival in the Netherlands.
The leading roles are being played by Argentinian actress Delfina Chaves and the Dutch actor Martijn Lakemeier. The show is set to be released in 2024.
