King Charles and Queen Camilla were joined by members of the royal family at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
King Charles and Queen Camilla visited the RHS Chelsea Flower Show’s preview day before its official opening. The King and Queen were joined by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
On arrival, Their Majesties first visited the RHS and The King’s Foundation Curious Garden, which has been designed to encourage the nation in discovering the joy of ‘getting curious about gardening.’ The collaboration between the RHS and The Foundation will celebrate the vital contribution plants make to the health of people, places and the planet.
The King, who serves as Patron of the Royal Horticultural Society, was also joined by Sir David Beckham and Alan Titchmarsh for the special event.
Sir David, who himself serves as a King’s Foundation Ambassador, was there to unveil a very touching floral tribute. The ‘Sir David Beckham Rose’ was at the request of Beckham’s daughter Harper in celebration of her father’s 50th birthday in May 2025. Through rose breeder David Austin, £2.50 will be donated to The King’s Foundation for each £ 27.50 rose sold.
Other notable faces in attendance included Dame Floella Benjamin, the Queen’s sister, Annabel Elliot, Dame Judi Dench, and Frances Tophill.
Members of the royal family separately toured some of the gardens and floral displays, reflecting the wide variety of the more than 400 exhibits and organisations represented at this year’s Flower Show.
Established in 1913, on the grounds of Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show has become one of the ‘world’s greatest showcases’ for horticultural excellence, attracting victors and exhibitors from across the globe.
The 2026 Flower Show officially opens to the public today and will run through 23 May.
