King Jigme Khesar of Bhutan has visited the Gyalsung Academies in Gyalpozhing, Mongar and Pemathang, Samdrup Jongkhar.
The King visited both academies on 16 November to meet the Gyalsups, who include men and women over the age of 18.
During his visit, His Majesty met with the Gyalsups training at the two academies and took group photos for the history books.
The Gyalsups are Bhutan’s National Service that was launched on 5 September 2024. The training will conclude on 3 December.
The Royal Office for Media explained about the Gyalsups: “The historic first cohort of Gyalsups are pioneers of a transformative journey for the nation, paving the way for generations to come as Bhutan establishes National Service.”
