The Duchess of Edinburgh has taken over a patronage from King Charles.

Sophie is now the patron of WheelPower, the national charity for wheelchair sports.

The King was previously the patron while Prince of Wales.

The Duchess of Edinburgh said it was “a huge honour” to take over the role.

“I am absolutely thrilled. I look forward to working with you in the future to make disabled sport more visible and accessible so that many more people can experience its real benefits,” she said.
