Princess Lalla Asmaa and First Lady of Kenya visit hospital

Princess Lalla Asmaa of Morocco and Kenya’s First Lady, Mrs Rachel Ruto, visited Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat.

Princess Lalla Asmaa is the President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, while Mrs Rachel Ruto is the President of the “Voice of Children Initiative” Foundation. The two women visited the hospital to meet children who had received cochlear implants, as part of the 4th phase of the international program “United, We Hear Each Other Better” and the national campaign “NASMAA.”

Upon arrival, the Princess and the First Lady were greeted by a detachment of the Auxiliary Forces providing honours, before being greeted by the Ambassador of Kenya to the Kingdom of Morocco, Jessica Gakinya; the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region and Governor of Rabat Prefecture, Mohamed Yacoubi; as well as the Wali and Coordinator of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), Mohamed Derdouri.

Among the children were Kenyan patients who received cochlear implants under the 4th phase of the “United, We Hear Each Other Better” program, which was launched in Nairobi in 2025 by the Princess and the First Lady. Over 100 children from Kenya have already benefited from the Moroccan expertise, along with hundreds of other children across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Later in the day, Princess Lalla Asmaa hosted the First Lady for lunch at the Royal Guest Palace in Rabat.
