King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, have arrived in Germany for their very first State Visit.

The plane carrying the King and Queen was escorted by German fighter jets as it approached Berlin Brandenburg Airport.

After the welcome at the airport, the pair travelled to the Brandenburg Gate for the official welcome with the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and his wife, Elke Büdenbender.

At the Schloss Bellevue presidential palace, King Charles and Queen Camilla signed the guestbook before heading into a Sustainability Reception.

The King and the President also planted a tree as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.

A state banquet is planned for tonight.
