Queen Máxima visits Regiment of Engineers

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands has visited the Regiment of Engineers in s’-Hertogenbosch.

During her visit, she learned about the work of the soldiers before helping them clear obstacles in a practice scenario involving a river crossing. Queen Máxima pressed the red button to set off an explosion.

In a second exercise, she just about managed to stay dry. She acted as part of a bridge platoon that was to build a ferry. She launched into the water with the bridge-building boat before connecting the last pontoon to the ferry.

Following the successful exercise, she drank brandy alongside the soldiers.
