King Felipe of Spain has visited the Ferrol Military Arsenal in A Coruña.
The King was received with honours by the Minister of Defence, Admiral General, Chief of Staff of the Navy, and the Vice Admiral, Chief of the Ferrol Military Arsenal.
His Majesty reviewed the troops before viewing the presentation of the “Opening Ferrol to the Sea” project. The Vice Admiral in charge of the Ferrol Military Arsenal then presented the Unit and its mission to the monarch.
Afterwards, King Felipe received a tour of the “Sala de Armas” building and viewed the “Integrated Services System” simulator in both the robotics module and Navantia simulation. The simulator’s “initial objective was to reduce the wiring on ships, a purpose that, with the evolution of the project over time, led to providing a digital, secure and intelligent infrastructure that provides comprehensive support and coverage for multiple services and functionalities,” according to Casa Real.
The Arsenal is the main logistical support base for the Spanish Navy between the eastern border of France and the northern border with Portugal.
