King Mohammed VI of Morocco presided over the swearing-in ceremony of officers graduating from the major military and paramilitary schools and institutes, as well as officers promoted from the ranks.
King Mohammed is the Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). The King was joined by his son, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, and his brother, Prince Moulay Rachid, and his nephew, Prince Moulay Ahmed. The ceremony took place at the Mechouar Square of the Royal Palace in Tetouan as the King celebrated the 27th anniversary of his accession to the throne.

The King also received (renewed) pledges of allegiance from Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit, the Walis (high-ranking officials) and Governors of the Kingdom’s wilayas, the prefectures and provinces and the Walis and Governors of the Interior Ministry’s Central Administration.
The ceremony ended with a five-gun salute. It was also attended by the Head of Government, the Speakers of both Houses of Parliament, Advisors to the King, members of the cabinet, Presidents of constitutional bodies, senior officers of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, and a number of civilian and military personalities.

Later in the day, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, as Coordinator of the Offices and Services of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, received a message of congratulations, fidelity, and loyalty at the Officers’ Mess of the Royal Guard in Tetouan.
