Swedish King and Queen visit Jamboree26

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden visited the Scouts’ Jamboree26 in Norra Åsum.

The King, who has been passionately involved with the Scouts for decades, travelled to the area outside Kristianstad with Queen Silvia to see the Scouts’ camp taking place. His Majesty appeared at the closing of the camp to wish the Scouts well.

The King was seen chatting with the Scouts after he and the Queen received a tour of the camp. He also took a group photo with the Scouts who attended the closing ceremony.

King Carl Gustaf gave a speech at the end of the camp, and Queen Silvia was presented with the Scout Movement’s “Gustaf Adolf Badge.” She was granted the honour due to her commitment to children’s safety and protection.

The King had the joy of presenting the award to his wife and placed the pin on her jacket.

There were 18,000 Scouts who gathered together from Sweden and other parts of the world for this year’s camp. Under the theme “Together,” the Scouts discussed democracy, the climate and peace, aside from their training and adventures. The camp takes place every four years.
