Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan marks his 30th birthday today. Details on how he is celebrating his birthday have not been made public.
It is an exciting time for the Crown Prince as his wife, Princess Rajwa, is expecting their first child this summer. Find out more about the soon-to-be father below:
Prince Hussein was born on 28 June 1994 to the then Prince Abdullah and Princess Rania, during the reign of his grandfather and namesake, King Hussein.
He has three younger siblings: Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem.
His father came to the throne in 1999 after the death of King Hussein, and King Abdullah made Hussein his heir in 2004. A royal decree was issued in 2009 making Hussein the Crown Prince of Jordan.
Crown Prince Hussein was educated at the International School of Choueifat, the International Amman Academy and the King’s Academy in Jordan. He attended university at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. He underwent training at Sandhurst and graduated in 2017.
The Crown Prince regularly attends royal events and engagements on behalf of the Crown and serves as Regent when his father is out of the country. He has attended UN meetings and became the youngest person to chair a UN Security Council session in 2015.
His engagement to Saudi Arabian Rajwa Al Saif was announced in 2022, and the pair wed in a Muslim ceremony at Zahran Palace in Amman on 1 June 2023. It was announced in April 2024 that the couple are expecting their first child this summer.
Besides his national honours, Crown Prince Hussein holds honours from Bahrain, Norway and Sweden.
