The Māori Queen is in London this week to celebrate rangatahi entrepreneurs.

Her Majesty Queen Nga Wai Hono i te Po has travelled to the United Kingdom this week to mark the 50th anniversary of The King’s Trust. The world’s only Queen regnant is celebrating rangatahi [young māori] entrepreneurs who have established businesses that are creating jobs and opportunities for whānau and their local communities.

The Queen, along with the four rangatahi from Aotearoa, attended ‘A King’s Trust Celebration’ last evening at the Royal Albert Hall. The special event brought together King’s Trust ambassadors, alumni, staff, and volunteers to celebrate the work of The Trust and the many achievements of the young people it has supported over the last 50 years.

The entrepreneurs from Aotearoa will also attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace on Thursday. King Charles has given special dispensation for a garden party to be held to recognise and celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of The King’s Trust. The garden party will bring together over 4,000 beneficiaries, volunteers, staff and supporters to celebrate fifty years of The King’s Trust.

The Trust believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed. Since it was founded by The King in 1976, when he was The Prince of Wales, it has helped more than 1.3 million young people across the UK and many more around the world develop essential life skills, prepare for work, and access job opportunities.

Earlier today, the Queen visited Windsor Castle and met with The Prince of Wales.
