The special brooch worn by Princess Charlotte at Trooping the Colour has a very sentimental meaning.
Charlotte, 10, donned the diamond horseshoe heirloom brooch that formerly belonged to her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The late monarch gifted the piece to her great-grandchild, according to a report by People. Before Queen Elizabeth II, it belonged to her mother, the Queen Mother.
Like the late Queen, Princess Charlotte has a love of horses, and the Princess of Wales revealed her daughter’s bond with the monarch during a 2016 documentary.

In ITV’s The Queen at Ninety, Catherine said: “The Queen was really thrilled that it was a little girl, and I think as soon as we came back here to Kensington, she was one of our first visitors here.”
Charlotte has many similarities with her great-grandmother, including how she handles herself in public. At only ten, she remains dignified at all royal events, even helping her brothers to remain regal during events.
This wasn’t the first time the Princess had worn the jewellery piece. She previously wore it at the late Queen’s funeral in 2022.
