When Princess Märtha Louise married Durek Verrett, she wore a special tiara to say “I do.”

The Princess wore a tiara gifted to her for her 18th birthday by her late grandfather, King Olav.

King Olav’s Gift Tiara was made by London jeweller, Garrard, and features diamonds and pearls.

Its design is based on ears of wheat with small pearls at the top throughout the piece. It’s not too big or too small – the perfect size for the daughter of a king.

She first wore it for her 18th birthday gala dinner in 1989 and loaned it to her mother, Queen Sonja, on one occasion. Princess Märtha Louise has worn it on several occasions since with the most recent being her 31 August nuptials.

The tiara had previously been worn by the Duchess of Kent in the UK.
