Infanta Sofía of Spain was born on 29 April 2007 at the Ruber International Hospital in Madrid as the second daughter of the future King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain. She was named after her paternal grandmother, Queen Sofía. At the time of her birth, she was third in the line of succession; she is currently second behind her elder sister, the Princess of Asturias.

Her christening took place on 15 July 2007, and the service was led by the Archbishop of Madrid, Antonio María Rouco Varela. Her godparents are Paloma Rocasolano, her maternal grandmother, and Konstantin-Assen, Prince of Vidin. Her First Communion was on 17 May 2017, followed by the sacrament of confirmation on 23 May 2023.

Infanta Sofía’s education began in 2009 at the Escuela Infantil Guardia Real, and she began her primary school the following year at the Santa María de los Rosales School. In 2023, she began a two-year program at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales.

She occasionally attends official events alongside her parents and her sister, and even undertook an international trip alongside her sister in 2022. As she is now 18 years old, we can expect to see her at more events, although her education will come first.
