Queen Mary of Denmark visited Aarhus University Hospital to meet the Danish Hospital Clowns.
Queen Mary is the royal patron of the Danish Hospital Clowns. During the meeting, the Queen learned more about the organisation’s work with children and young people with chronic and long-term illnesses.
She was received by the Director of the Danish Hospital Clowns, Tania Dethlefsen, the Chairman of the Regional Council, Anders G. Christensen, and the Medical Director of Aarhus University Hospital, Michael Bräuner Schmidt. She was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the 11-year-old Mynte. Mynte has seen the hospital clowns at work and has been part of the Clown Ambulance.

The Clown Ambulance is part of the Danish Hospital Clowns initiative, and provides children and young people with a break from their illness. Queen Mary saw the Clown Ambulance up close.
In the MRI department, Queen Mary met several hospital clowns, radiographers and other healthcare staff.
Queen Mary joined 7-year-old Svend as he and the hospital clowns prepared for an MRI.
