Royals expected at 80th anniversary of liberation of Auschwitz

Royals from across Europe will be in Poland today to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Monarchs and heirs to the throne will be at Auschwitz-Birkenau in Oświęcim, Poland, to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp.

The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, will also attend.

The ceremony will be held in front of ‘The Gate of Death’ of the camp and include remarks by survivors of Auschwitz.

King Charles will attend for the United Kingdom, while Crown Prince Haakon will represent Norway. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden will attend alongside King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark. King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, and Princess Amalia will participate from the Netherlands. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde will represent Belgium, and Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie will represent Luxembourg.
