Queen Máxima sends wreath to funeral of Dutch influencer

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands sent a wreath to the funeral of Dutch influencer Jade Kops.

The wreath with a white ribbon displaying the letter M with a crown could be seen on top of the casket inside the hearse. The Government Information Service confirmed to RTL that the wreath came from the Queen.

Jade was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at the age of 14. She posted about her treatments on social media, but in 2024, it became clear that the treatments were no longer working. After learning she could no longer be helped, she began raising money for the Prinses Máxima Centrum, which specialises in cancer treatments for children. She managed to raise over 2 million euros.

In 2024, at the age of 17, Kops was appointed a Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau, becoming the youngest Dutch person ever.

Queen Máxima followed Jade on Instagram and visited her at her home in 2024. Jade passed away on 24 April 2026. She was 19 years old.
