Queen Sonja of Norway has been released from the hospital.

A statement from the Norwegian Royal Court said, “Her Majesty the Queen has been discharged from the National Hospital. The Queen was admitted due to shortness of breath. Investigations show that the situation has normalised. The Queen is on sick leave for the rest of the week.”

Queen Sonja was flown to Oslo’s National Hospital from the Prince’s Cabin (or Royal Mountain Chalet) in Sikkilsdalen in an air ambulance on the evening of 21 April.

Her Majesty had a pacemaker inserted in January 2025 to correct an irregular heartbeat.
