Queen Camilla has sent a congratulations message to the British Olympic gold medalists.

Her Majesty sent the message after Great Britain won gold in Team Eventing. Queen Camilla is the patron of the British Equestrian Federation.

The Queen said: “My warmest congratulations to every member of Team GB for winning gold in the Team Eventing at the [Paris Olympic] Games. Your outstanding achievement is a testament to your dedication, professionalism and hours of hard work and you have made us all incredibly proud!”

Princess Anne was on hand to present the British athletes with their gold medals. The Princess Royal is a member of the International Olympic Committee and a former Olympic equestrian.

This also marked the first time “God Save the King” has been played at the Olympics since 1948. Of course, the British have won gold medals since 1948, but until 2022, the national anthem was “God Save the Queen.”
